| Professor of Architectural Design at the Royal
Institute of Fine Arts in Rome and life member of St Ives Society
of Artists, Oliver Bedford moved to Cornwall in 1948. Much of his
work, in a variety of mediums, was inspired by his extensive travels
to China and Europe. |

| Joanna Comming's move to Cornwall in 2002 unleashed her fascination with painting the landscape in all its moods: "The Cornish landscape has a profound effect on me: the contortions of rocks, the sea in all its moods, the breadth of the moors, the calm of the estuary. My constant and absorbing challenge is to respond to the effect produced on this landscape by the differing light and seasons. I work in acrylics, which I love for their versatility, and also in oils." |

| Ralph Curnow is a marine artist based in Penzance. Working mainly in oils on canvas, Ralph specialises in seascapes and images of ships. His interest in the sea stems from his time on the Penlee Lifeboat. During his first solo exhibition (in Newlyn) half the exhibited paintings were sold on the opening night. |
