Stephen Knowles

UK illustrator Stephen Knowles is inspired greatly by comic books, by Adrian Tomine, Chris Ware and Dan Clowes (to name a few), together with a fascination with old hand painted street signs, advertising, type and propaganda posters.

Stephen uses emulsion, spray paint and other mixed media to create strong narrative compositions in answer to a brief.

His clients to date include: The Financial Times Magazine, The Independent Review, The Guardian, Tiger Magazine (in which one of his comic strips was featured), Tales Magazine and sample3.

Stephen has also just completed writing and illustrating his first comic book called "Five Days Out of Seven" which he is also publishing himself and will soon be available at Magma Books.
